Sports Bag Manufacturing Guide

From fabric roll to retail-ready sports bag

A well-built sports bag is a 40+ component assembly — fabric, coating, foam, webbing, zippers and hardware all engineered against a spec. Here is exactly how Findup Sports builds duffels, backpacks, boot bags and team kit bags in Sialkot for OEM and private-label clients.

Bag types we manufacture

We build the full sports-bag catalogue — from lightweight boot bags to full team kit bags. Every silhouette is available as OEM or private label against your artwork.

  • Duffel / holdall

Cylindrical or rectangular sports duffels — 30 L to 90 L. Twin webbing handles, detachable padded shoulder strap, wet-pocket and shoe compartment on premium models.

  • Backpack

Sports, gym and training backpacks — padded shoulder straps, mesh-panel back, laptop sleeve, ventilated shoe compartment, side mesh water-bottle pockets.

  • Boot bag / shoe bag

Compact single-compartment or divided boot bags with ventilation grommets. Popular for football, rugby and cricket kit ranges.

  • Kit bag / wheeled duffel

Team kit bags 90–130 L with reinforced base, heavy-duty wheels, telescopic handle and multiple ID panels for squad numbers.

Fabric & coating — the decision that sets the price band

Denier (D) measures yarn thickness — higher denier means heavier, tougher fabric. The coating (PU, PVC or TPU) drives water resistance, hand-feel and recyclability.

  • 600D polyester

The volume workhorse — PU-coated, water-resistant, good print surface. Best for promotional, school and mid-tier retail bags.

  • 900D / 1000D polyester or Cordura

Heavier weave with higher tear and abrasion resistance. Standard for premium gym and team-issue duffels.

  • 1680D ballistic polyester / nylon

Tactical-grade fabric with the deepest abrasion resistance. Used on pro kit bags and military-style ranges.

  • Ripstop nylon & recycled RPET

Lightweight ripstop for packable travel bags; GRS-eligible recycled RPET (from PET bottles) for sustainability-led ranges.

Quality control checklist

Every bag is checked against the approved golden sample. Third-party pre-shipment inspection (SGS, BV, Intertek) is welcome — buyers coordinate directly.

  • Zipper cycle test — 5,000 open/close cycles on main zippers
  • Seam strength — pull test on handle roots, strap anchors and base seams
  • Load test — 15–25 kg static load hung for 24 hours
  • Colour fastness — rub test dry & wet, wash test to ISO 105
  • Water resistance — spray and hydrostatic head test on coated fabrics
  • Hardware pull test — buckles, D-rings and snap-hooks tested to break load
  • Dimensional QC — length, width, depth and volume against approved spec

Branding, customization & packaging

  • All-over sublimation print (polyester shells)
  • Screen print, heat transfer or DTF on flat panels
  • Embroidered logo — flat, 3D puff or appliqué
  • Rubber, PVC or silicone patch — moulded to artwork
  • Woven label at seam, hangtag with barcode
  • Custom zipper pullers — moulded, metal or webbing loop
  • Pantone colour match with in-house lab dip
  • Individual polybag with silica gel · printed folder · retail box
  • Master carton labelling and export documentation to buyer spec
