What is a REX number and why does it matter?

The Registered Exporter (REX) system is the European Union's official self-certification of origin scheme, operated by the European Commission (DG TAXUD) under the EU Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP). A REX number is a unique identifier assigned to an exporter that is authorized to issue Statements on Origin — replacing the older Form A Certificate of Origin for preferential trade with the EU, UK (post-Brexit), Norway, Switzerland and Turkey.

  • Preferential duty access — EU / UK importers can claim reduced or zero import duty on Pakistan-origin goods under GSP+ using our REX-backed Statement on Origin.

01What is an NTN and why does Findup Sports have one?+
NTN (National Tax Number) is the unique tax identifier issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Government of Pakistan, to every registered business and taxpayer. Findup Sports' NTN 7153226-1 confirms we are a legally registered, tax-filing Pakistani entity authorized to invoice, export and receive foreign remittances against a Form-E through the State Bank of Pakistan banking channel.
02What is a REX number?+
REX (Registered Exporter) is the European Union's official self-certification of origin system, operated by the European Commission (DG TAXUD) under the Union Customs Code (Regulation 2015/2447). A REX number is a unique identifier granted to an exporter after audit by their national customs authority — in our case Pakistan Customs / FBR — authorizing that exporter to issue a Statement on Origin directly on the commercial invoice, replacing the older Form A Certificate of Origin.
03How does the REX system actually work?+
Once registered, the exporter prints a short, standardized Statement on Origin (with its REX number) on the commercial invoice or packing list for consignments valued above the EU threshold. EU customs at the port of entry validates the REX number against the public EU REX database, and the importer can then claim preferential (reduced or zero) import duty under the EU Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP / GSP+). No separate Form A is required.

05Which countries accept the REX Statement on Origin from Pakistan?+
The REX Statement on Origin is accepted for preferential trade with the European Union (27 member states), the United Kingdom (under its own GSP scheme post-Brexit), Norway, Switzerland and Turkey. For non-REX destinations (GCC, North America, etc.) we issue a chamber-attested Certificate of Origin through the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI).
06Do buyers need to do anything extra to claim GSP+ duty on Findup Sports shipments?+
No. The Statement on Origin travels on our commercial invoice and quotes our REX number PK71532261. The importer (or their customs broker) simply presents the invoice at clearance and claims the preferential-duty code for the relevant HS heading. There is no separate origin certificate, no chamber attestation and no waiting time.
