Is a body chart or a garment chart correct?

Retail programmes publish body charts — the size a wearer's body measurements fall into. Tech packs use garment charts — the actual finished-garment measurement including ease. Both are needed: the body chart drives consumer purchase, the garment chart drives production QC. A grader converts one into the other by adding the fit ease of the chosen block.

What is cut-for-her sportswear?

Cut-for-her is a female-specific pattern block — narrower shoulder, higher armhole, shaped waist and a chest curve. Unisex garments assume a rectangular male torso and fit women poorly through the shoulder and waist. Cut-for-her is a separate size run, not a re-labeled small.

How is junior sportswear graded?

Junior sizing runs off age brackets — 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 years — with body-height as the primary driver. Grading between sizes is 4 cm chest and 5 cm body length. Above age 14 the grade converges into adult XS/S/M.

Measurement rules — body vs garment

Body charts describe the wearer. Garment charts describe the finished piece. Never publish one and produce to the other.
Half-chest is measured 2 cm below the armhole, garment laid flat. Tolerance ±1.0 cm on adult, ±0.8 cm on junior.
Body length is measured from HPS (high-point shoulder) to hem. Tolerance ±1.5 cm on adult, ±1.0 cm on junior.
Sleeve length is measured from centre-back neck along the top-arm to the cuff. Tolerance ±1.0 cm.
Every size-set inspection audits three garments per size against the tech-pack garment chart before bulk sign-off.
