Importing Hoodies from Sialkot
Sialkot is a specialist manufacturing cluster — sportswear, gloves, hoodies and technical apparel. Getting the goods to your DC cleanly comes down to Incoterms, HS classification and packaging.
Incoterms — what you're really buying
- EXW — ex-works. You collect from the factory gate. Cheapest, most work.
- FOB Karachi — most common. We deliver to port, load on vessel. You handle sea freight and import.
- CIF — we handle sea freight + insurance to your destination port. You clear customs.
- DDP — door delivery. We handle everything including duty. Highest cost, zero admin.
HS codes for hoodies
- 6110.20 — pullovers of cotton (knit). Most classic fleece hoodies.
- 6110.30 — pullovers of man-made fibres (poly-cotton, tech fleece).
- 6110.20.20 — women's / girls' cotton pullover in some jurisdictions.
- 6203.42 / 6204.62 — if garment classifies as jacket vs pullover (rare for hoodies).
Confirm the exact 10-digit code with your broker for the destination country — EU TARIC, UK Trade Tariff and US HTSUS all differ at the sub-heading level.
Duty rates — indicative
- EU — 12% MFN on cotton knit hoodies; GSP+ preferential for Pakistan origin (0% for eligible categories with Form A / REX).
- UK — 12% MFN post-Brexit, DCTS scheme for Pakistan reduces to 0% for enhanced-preference goods.
- US — 16.5% cotton knit pullover under HTSUS 6110.20.20 (no GSP for Pakistan currently).
- Australia — 5% general rate.
Packaging & carton planning
Standard export packaging: individually polybagged hoodie (LDPE 40µ), 10–20 pcs per master carton depending on GSM, corrugated 5-ply carton with shipping marks. A typical 40ft HC container fits 3,000–4,000 heavyweight hoodies or up to 6,000 lightweight ones. Assortment cartons (mixed sizes) simplify DC receiving.
Documents on every shipment
- Commercial invoice + packing list.
- Certificate of Origin (Form A / GSP+ REX for EU, DCTS for UK).
- Bill of Lading (sea) or Air Waybill.
- Fumigation certificate if wooden pallets used.
- Textile declaration on care-label composition.
