Founder's playbook

How To Start Your Own Football Brand

A practical, factory-side walkthrough for founders launching a football brand — from first sample to first container.

1. Define the tier and the buyer

Pick a tier before you pick a supplier: promotional, training, retail mid-tier, or match/pro. The tier decides construction (machine, hand stitched, thermal bonded), materials, MOQ and price band. Buyers for each tier look completely different, and so do their expectations.

2. Lock the specification sheet

  • Size (3, 4, 5, futsal), weight and circumference tolerance
  • Panel count (32-panel classic, 12/8/6 modern, seamless)
  • PU outer thickness and backing layers
  • Bladder type — butyl for retention, latex for touch
  • Branding zones and print method (screen, sublimation, embossing)

3. Sampling round

Order 2–3 pre-production samples with your logo. Kick them, wet them, weigh them, drop-test rebound at 2 metres. Only approve mass production after the physical sample passes.

4. MOQ, pricing and lead time

Typical Findup Sports MOQs: 100 pcs (promotional), 300 pcs (thermal bonded), 500 pcs (hand stitched match balls). Lead time is 25–45 days after sample approval. Ex-works pricing in USD is normal — you pay 30% deposit, 70% before shipment.

5. Branding & retail packaging

Choose polybag + hangtag for e-commerce, or full retail box with inflation needle for stores. We produce artwork, dielines and mockups in-house so you approve the final packaging before print.

6. Shipping and import

Sialkot exports via Karachi (sea) or Sialkot International Airport (air). A 40ft container holds ~4,500 boxed match balls. Sea freight to Europe/US: 22–35 days. HS code 9506.62 for inflatable balls.

7. Go to market

Launch with a hero SKU (your premium match ball) and a volume SKU (training) so you have both a story and margin. Athlete seeding, club partnerships and Amazon FBA are the fastest early channels for new football brands.
