Hoodie QC Checklist
The pre-shipment QC pass is the last stop before a container leaves. This is what we test, at AQL 2.5 major, on every hoodie order.
Measurement audit
Twelve points of measure per hoodie, tolerance ±1 cm on body dimensions and ±0.5 cm on trims. Chest width, front and back length, sleeve length, armhole depth, shoulder width, hood height, hood width, pocket width, pocket depth, cuff width, hem width, hem height. Sample rate: 8–20 units per size across the range.
Colour match
Master swatch vs bulk under D65 daylight and TL84 store light in a colour-matching booth. Delta-E ≤ 1.5 for solid colourways, ≤ 2.5 for melange / heather. Metamerism (colour shift across light sources) is checked separately — critical for retail floors with mixed lighting.
Seam strength
Peel test on shoulder, side seam, hood-to-body and hood inset — minimum 4 kg / 2 cm before failure. Zigzag on kangaroo pocket opening tested to 6 kg. Bar-tacks at pocket corners tested to 8 kg. Failing seams trigger a re-stitch cycle before packing.
Hardware & trims
- Zipper — 50 cycle open/close test, no jamming, chain aligned.
- Eyelets — pull test to 6 kg, no rotation, no coating chip.
- Drawcord — end-tips secure (heat-set or metal), length symmetric ±5 mm.
- Labels — position, orientation and legibility check.
Pilling & wash
Random sample garment-washed once (30°C, standard detergent) and inspected for shrinkage (≤ 5%), colour bleed, seam pucker and pilling grade (Martindale ≥ 3–4 at 2,000 cycles). One failed unit triggers a full lot re-inspection.
Packaging
- Fold size and orientation per spec.
- Polybag sealed, size ratio label visible.
- Master carton weight ≤ 15 kg, print legible, carton spec correct.
